PORTRAITS OF AMERICA - SOMOS ARTE!

Call for Participation: Share Your Story, a Poem, or a Portrait Sketch.

We are excited to share an upcoming project series titled “Portraits of America.”
Nativa Studio will be hosting storytelling and sketch sessions that will contribute to our collective self-expression and a sculptural installation to be presented at the 2025 UNC Charlotte International Festival this fall.
Members of our diverse community are welcome to participate in this project that celebrates our stories and talents! This initiative will explore and celebrate the rich cultural landscape of America, focusing on the Hispanic population in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our goal is to document how immigration and historical events have shaped our identities and traditions while emphasizing the significant contributions of the Hispanic community to the broader American identity.
Be part of a project that highlights the beauty of our shared identity! The resulting artwork will serve as a powerful visual representation of our collective voice, enhancing cultural understanding and appreciation.

Join us at Nativa Studio on April 5th and July 5th from 1 PM to 5 PM. Check the RSVP link to save your spot!

We had the best time! Thank you, everyone, for the amazing support.

It was wonderful to meet so many people interested in our Salvadoran culture. We loved watching everyone enjoy the indigo dyeing and lino printing using upcycled fabrics.

A special thanks to the University of North Carolina in Charlotte and the Consulate General of El Salvador for supporting these cultural exchanges!
